National Recycling Day
Here at IFCD 3, we utilize multiple strategies to keep Valley Ranch’s waterways looking clean and clear of debris. In honor of National Recycling Day, we are highlighting the key role that recycling plays in keeping Valley Ranch’s waterways, and Irving as a whole, beautiful.
Keep Irving Beautiful is a local nonprofit, grassroots, leadership organization dedicated to educating our community about litter abatement, recycling, and beautification in order to help preserve the health and promote the social and economic prosperity of our city.
“One can, one bottle or one Amazon box might seem insignificant, but these quickly pile add up along the side of the road and in our streams and canals. Making a conscious decision to recycle, and recycle properly, plays a massive role in preventing trash buildup in our community,” says Rick Hose, Keep Irving Beautiful Coordinator.
Many common forms of man-made trash found in Valley Ranch’s waterways are recyclable items, meaning that your decision to recycle on a daily basis directly impacts the cleanliness of your local streams, ponds and canals.
“We’re encouraging everyone to download our Recycling Pledge. By taking this pledge, you promise to learn more about what materials are okay and not okay to recycle, to take an active role in educating others on recycling and to lead by example.” says Hose.
Irving residents can download the Recycling Pledge here and learn more information about recycling on the City of Irving’s website.
