What’s in Store this New Year for IFCD 3
As North Texans waived goodbye to summer, IFCD 3 also said goodbye to its 2021-2022 year. As a State of Texas Flood Control District, we don’t use conventional calendar year, but instead operate on an October 1 – September 30 fiscal year. During our most recent public meeting, the board voted on and approved the District's proposed budget for 2022-2023.
Below are key activities approved for 2022-2023:
- Renovation of pump discharge piping and channel
- Planned maintenance of sluice gates and addition of a mechanical trash rake
- Management of multiple new construction projects
- Reevaluation of construction options for a tilting weir/lake level control gate
- Renovation of pump discharge piping and channel
- Ongoing landscaping work on District property to mitigate and/or prevent erosion
- General Operations and Maintenance (O&M) activities throughout the District
In addition to these key projects, we’ll continue our ongoing teamwork with various community organizations, such as Keep Irving Beautiful, Valley Ranch Association, local elementary schools and other groups that can assist in educating the community on the importance of flood control.
