Teamwork - Driving Our Success
While IFCD 3 is self-contained and laser-focused on flood control in Valley Ranch, education and information about the importance of flood control also are important aspects of our mission. Groups such as Keep Irving Beautiful, Valley Ranch Association and local schools help spread messages about our preparation, readiness and action. Teaming with these organizations enables us to be involved in events that inspire the community to protect their environment and better Valley Ranch.
Below are a few ongoing, recent and upcoming opportunities where we’ve been able to work with key community groups to better the community:
Valley Ranch Association (VRA) -- IFCD 3’s service area covers nearly the entire Valley Ranch community. This means that we coordinate our projects with the work of Valley Ranch Association to create even greater efficiency and effectiveness. Additionally, VRA provides assistance in our overall communication throughout the year in Valley Ranch.
Coppell ISD elementary schools – This past March, we completed the fifth year of our elementary school education program with various local schools right here in Valley Ranch. Beyond helping educate second and third graders on the importance of flood control, one of the most rewarding opportunities for our team is being a part of STEM education – science, technology, engineering and math. We look forward to connecting with students each year and are exploring the potential of expanding to Carrollton-Farmers Branch district schools in Valley Ranch.
Keep Irving Beautiful (KIB) – KIB a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating the community about litter abatement, recycling, and beautification… an organization with a mission that aligns closely with ours. KIB aims to maintain a healthy and desirable community throughout the city of Irving. On September 24 at 9:00 am, KIB is hosting its 31st Annual Trash Bash at T.W. Richardson Grove Park and IFCD 3 will be a part of the event. We invite you to participate in the cleanup of the Campion Trail along the Elm Fork of the Trinity River, helping to preserve the natural beauty of one of Valley Ranch’s signature recreation assets and being part of a fun and education-filled event designed for people of all ages. For more information, take a look at the event flyer below. Be sure to stop by our booth to say hello!
